The Theatre Petit Champlain has been a part of Quebec’s cultural landscape for many years. Since it’s opening in the XIX century, the Theatre Petit Champlain hosts mostly theater productions. Later on, in 1994, the Theater became the first Maison de la Chanson and started to welcome a lot of local musical artists. Lately, we added more diversity to our upcoming events ; we also welcome stand-up comics!

The Red Door from the K-Drama Goblin

For the past few years, the modest red door in the Petit-Champlain area has been attracting many tourists from Asia. Featured in the popular South Korean K-drama Goblin, the door has become a new tourist attraction.

The famous red door is located to the left of the entrance to the Theatre Petit Champlain. It has no handle and appears to be sealed shut.

Getting there

We are located in the heart of the Quartier Petit Champlain. There are many ways to get to our venue.

By bus : the bus 1 drops you in front of the Quebec-Levis ferry.

By foot : From the old town, you can access our Theater by taking the funiculaire from the Dufferin Terrace and it will drop you directly on Petit-Champlain street. Then you have to turn right and walk until after the park. We’re situated on the left, after the park.

Where is the Red door from goblin ?

The iconic red door featured in the K-drama is located on the exterior of the Theatre Petit Champlain , in the historic Petit-Champlain district of Old Québec.

To find it, walk along Rue du Petit-Champlain toward Place Royale. The red door is visible from the street, attached to the theatre building beside the main pedestrian path. Visitors coming from the Funicular or Petit-Champlain district can reach it within a few minutes on foot, making it an easy and popular stop for fans visiting Quebec City.
